Software for professional property managers
Professional managers should treat PMS selection as an operating-system decision. The platform touches reservations, owner relationships, staff, distribution, payments and reporting. A cheap migration that disrupts these workflows can cost far more than a year of subscription fees.
Build a requirements matrix before demos
Separate must-have workflows from nice-to-have features. Give each vendor the same property count, booking mix and integration requirements, then ask for an all-in commercial proposal. This makes quote-led products easier to compare with published-price products.
Operational tests worth running
- Owner statement creation and correction
- Bulk calendar and rate changes
- Staff permissions and auditability
- Reservation changes across channels
- Payment exception handling
- Portfolio reporting and data export
- API and integration requirements
Plan the migration, not only the purchase
Ask who owns data mapping, channel reconnection, website migration, payment setup and team training. A strong implementation plan can be more valuable than a marginal feature advantage.
